Julie Mangrello-Jennings, MSHR
Julie Mangrello-Jennings started her career in Human Resources and decided to follow her passion with Employee Benefits. She has over 25 years of experience as a Health and Life Insurance Agent and in HR Management, which provides her with a solid understanding of both the employer and employees’ needs. When Health Care Reform was signed into law, she spent five years of her career focusing on training and development for Insurance agents on the Affordable Care Act and how it impacts employers, and ERISA compliance, as well as trained agents on various sales strategies for companies of various sizes. In 2015, she launched MNJ Insurance Solutions, a family-owned insurance agency, focusing on Employee Benefits for small and mid-sized employers.
Julie earned her Master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership from Chapman University, and has her Bachelors in Business Management.
Julie was named the 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women Mean Business event in Laguna Niguel. In 2024, MNJ Insurance Solutions was honored with the Women-Owned Small Business Award and was named Best Insurance Services in Laguna Niguel.
Bryan Jennings
Bryan Jennings was involved with the formation of MNJ Insurance Solutions with Julie in 2015. Bryan understands that successful businesses are differentiated by providing excellent service and support to our clients, which is the foundation from which MNJ Insurance was built. In addition to having his Life and Health license, Bryan has been around the health insurance world for many years. Bryan is also involved in the technology industry and brings knowledge of sales, operations, technology, customer success and account management to help MNJ Insurance Solutions run smoothly and efficient.
Bryan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California State University, Fullerton and is a great addition to our leadership team.
John Ringer
John Ringer has been a successful insurance agent for more than 21 years and brings his knowledge and skills to help MNJ Insurance Solutions provide more scope and understanding of many business processes relating to health insurance. Over these many years, John has seen not only the changes in health insurance but also business in general and utilizes this knowledge to help business owners manage their insurance costs and retain their employees. John understands small business very well and understands the many things that are essential in protecting the legacy of your business and financial well-being. John is committed to providing an ideal mix of insurance coverage plans and tax incentives programs to ensure a more secure future and to give you peace of mind. In addition, John brings his experience with Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans and educates individuals with Medicare 101 basics, along with providing them with solutions to fit their needs and budget.
Amber Whelan
Amber has been dedicated to the health insurance industry for over 18 years. She has passion for providing each client help to better understand health insurance, their needs to get them insured on the best plan available to them. She enjoys the relationships that are built everyday with employers and their employees.
When Amer is not working, you will often find her exploring museums, the zoo, and the library with her two kids. She also enjoys finding hidden gems at farmer’s markets and engaging in other fun activities with her kids.
Ellie Cohen
Ellie brings a strong background working with group benefits with over five years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Throughout her career, she has focused on helping businesses navigate their benefits needs with a responsive and client-focused approach. Her exceptional attention to detail reflects her genuine care for clients and her commitment to getting things done right.
Prior to entering the employee benefits field, Ellie built a foundation in retail, where exceptional customer service and relationship-building were at the core of her work. This combined experience allows her to provide thoughtful support and a positive experience for every client she serves.
Kristin Decou
Kristin began career in Human Resources as an HR Generalist, where she developed a strong foundation in recruiting, employee benefits, and compliance across both the medical and banking industries. She understands the challenges employers face when it comes to recruiting, compliance, and employee benefits.
She has been a licensed insurance professional for 20 years, specializing in the voluntary benefits space in which she partnered with business owners and their teams to provide education, guidance, and enrollment support. Her passion is to help employees understand their options and feel confident in the benefits they choose.
